Work Conditioning
Returning to work following a leave of absence for a hand injury can be very daunting, for both the employee and the employer. It is in everyone’s best interest that the employee does not return to work until they are 100% ready, and only a certified hand therapist can make that determination. Midwest Hand Therapy delivers individualized, work-oriented hand therapy programs that are designed to restore functionality before returning to work fulltime. This includes improving the patient’s strength, endurance, flexibility and mobility.
This specific type of hand therapy, often called occupational hand therapy, ensures the patient’s safe return to work. We assist clients in making a cognitive and physical shift from patient back to employee again. Each patient is provided with a return to work conditioning program that is designed to maximize the client’s capacity.
When the patient feels ready to return to work, we’ll perform an extensive evaluation to be sure that they are capable of returning to their job function, and are not at risk for re-injuring themself. With the help of Midwest Hand Therapy, employees return to work faster, and safer.
